Apparently security concerns have prompted police to move Chief Keef's concert from Olympic Theater in Cicero to King of Diamonds Chicago nightclub in suburban Harvey, IL. Police reports from Cicero indicate they received "intelligence" that there would be an eruption of violence. There is no indication from Harvey police whether or not they have similar concerns.
This venue change comes on the heels of more bad news for the young Chicago rapper - he was just evicted from his Highland Park home (rented) for reportedly being more than four months behind in rent.
Harvey officials have rejected the move of Chief Keef's concert to King of Diamonds Chicago Nightclub. Sean Howard, spokesman for Harvey's police and Mayor's office had this to say:
"Four years ago the rapper held a concert in neighboring Markham. Gunshots were fired and one person was killed. The rapper has written songs that have led to death threats against his life in southern Cook County. The Mayor's top priority is to protect the citizens of Harvey against any potential threat to public safety. Harvey Police will be on high alert this coming weekend. We stand united with the City of Chicago and the Town of Cicero in protecting our citizens against the threat of violence as it relates to Chief Keef." (via NBC Chicago).
