NelaruskyNelarusky 2014 will feature performances by Dominican born, Los Angeles based new wave/chill wave/synth pop artist Twin Shadow, electronic musicians Sylvan Esso (set to perform at the AV Club/Hideout Block Party on Saturday, September 6th - tickets available in advance) and Chicago Based indie rock band, Santah. Nelarusky is an annual benefit for Special Olympics Illinois, now eight years running, that doubles as an Official Lollapalooza After Show. Nelarusky has local Chicago bands perform on stage alongside national Lollapalooza artists. Tickets go on sale Friday, July 11th at 10:00AM.

Nelarusky 2013 Lollapalooza After Show boasted a bill featuring Imagine Dragons, Icona Pop, Brick + Mortar and Kellen & Me. Previous Nelarusky line-ups featured performances by Alabama Shakes, First Aid Kit, Filligar, Cold War Kids, as well as several other local and national acts.

Young Entrepreneur Lauren McClusky has been in charge of Nelarusky for 8 consecutive years. McClusky kicked off her first benefit for Special Olympics Illinois (under the title McFest) at the age of 17. The first two Nelarusky events featured bands from local Chicago high schools, and has since grown to encompass nationally known bands in partnership with Lollapalooza. Last year Nelarusky raised $50,000 for Special Olympics Illinois. In total, Nelarusky has raised approximately $177,000 for Special Olympics Illinois.

Nelarusky (formerly known as McFest) is an annual benefit concert for Special Olympics Illinois that takes place at Metro in Chicago. Nelarusky became an Official Lollapalooza after show in 2010. The event is organized by Lauren McClusky and a team of young entrepreneurs. It has collectively raised over $177,000 for the organization over a course of seven years. Not only does Nelarusky showcase new and upcoming Chicago talent, but it has also expanded to bring artists from other cities and states. The event also includes raffle items, silent auctions, merchandise and giveaways.
Mission Statement: To raise money and awareness for Special Olympics, as well as showcase upcoming talent, through an annual benefit concert at Metro in Chicago. It also provides young entrepreneurs an incredible learning opportunity to organize and plan an event, while performing community service.
