Lollapalooza definitely knows how to throw a party, starting off from pre-parties Thursday evening all the way to after shows ending at 3am on Monday. If you cannot afford a two-three hundred dollar ticket like me, you can spend practically nothing to get into some of their pre-party and after shows. This year I got to check out the Pandora Summer Party featuring Cold War Kids at the Concord Music Hall in Chicago.
Opening the show was Hesta Prynn, a female dj who even did some rapping during her set. Girl djs are few and far between, but Hesta Prynn knew how to get the crowd pumped up. Once Cold War Kids ascended onto the stage, the crowd went wild. Only three songs in and they were already dropping unheard tracks. The crowd had a ton of energy and was grooving along to every song they jammed out for us. If you did not get a chance to check out Cold War Kids while they were in town, I highly reccomend keeping an eye out for the next time they come to a town near you.
