Little May’s self-titled debut EP out Tuesday, October 14th on Capitol Records.
Little May are releasing their debut self titled EP next week on Capitol Records. You can hear it right now over at Stereogum who note, "The band's dark-tinged folk-rock has definite pop appeal - breathy vocal harmonies, hooky guitars, and sweeping arrangements abound. There's a cinematic beauty to this music, even within the limited scope of an EP. The results are like First Aid Kit with a splash of Haim's swagger."
The Sydney band's songs are emotionally charged, intimate and lyrical and their music is an entirely original take on folk with blues and indie influences that saw music writers invent the term "ghost folk."
Their singles "Boardwalks," "Hide" and "Dust" soon soared to the top spots of Hype Machine garnering over a million Soundcloud plays, a global audience and critics hailing the trio as the 'next great storytellers' and 'Australian artist to watch'.
After the startling and moving video for their last single "Dust", Little May have today released their latest single - the haunting and lovely "Bones." Billboard premiered the track, noting that the band is "poised for an explosive debut in the states." With Little May's gift for goose-bump enduing melodies and tales of love, loss and lust - these are no delicate 'songstresses' but fiercely talented musicians and songwriters - who are keen to show it.
