The Oxford Coma

Air Date: 07-07-14

Since early 2011 The Oxford Coma has created its own brand of alternately trippy and heavy alt rock weirdness. While experimental and progressive, The Oxford Coma plays with the passion and rawness that regularly gets polished out of those genres.

They released "Adonis" in late 2012, which has since received critical acclaim across the web and the states, and has sold in four countries. Kevin Sellers, music writer for musicemissions.com wrote "Independently released and produced, Adonis has a gritty edge, and contains some of the absolute best rock music you're going to find" and "it is undoubtedly the strongest debut effort I've come across in many years. Take steps to check this one out, it's most definitely worth your while." Adonis has received positive reviews in Phoenix Newtimes, Java Magazine, IAE Magazine, Progression Magazine, and on blogs from the US, UK, and Germany.

The Oxford Coma has opened for Soulfly, Fear Factory, and Amaranthe earning top selling local slots for their shows. During October 2013 the band made its New York City debut as part of the CBGB Music Fest. This past year also had the band performing at the world famous Whisky A Go Go in LA, and have made numerous trips to the west coast. They infuse projection art, creative lighting, and occasionally phosphorescent body paint into their live show, which seems to be evolving along with the band.

Whether you see The Oxford Coma live, or listen to their studio work, it promises to be an experience and a step in a different direction.
